No Rating

Corona Virus pandemic has affected all sectors including schools and institutions, in South Sudan alot of youths have decided to make drinking as a routine daily, but Changkuoth Lul Liem a Student from Catholic University has turned writing poems to be an hobby, hopping to reach and teach other students, he uses poem to send message to his fellow students and South Sudanese youths…..

Here is a poem from him about

Oh Alcohol 🍺!

You deceived and drained my

dreams in the dark ending up a

drunkard ,

Dreaming about when the

mornings shall come to meet

up and drink you with

friends.

You made me think you’re

tasteful

Yet your taste cuts my

throat and shocks my eyes

like an electric shock ,

Making me think the lights

have gone off ,

I don’t recognize the people

I have received recently .

You gave me the courage that

I was strong enough to

strangle the vehicles in the

middle of the streets,

Breaking my below binary big

bones ,

Making my chest smaller than

a chicken’s through

crawling .

I barely play baseball ⚾

like I used to because I

can’t breathe for long

chiefly to be crowned as a

champion .

You killed and made me skip

classes to kiss you ,

Kept me in the cribs while

my comrades are cribbing in

the campus to be certified

and confirmed as graduates ,

Divorced my Dearest wife,

became fatherless and dumb ,

Look at me now , no one is

to dig my grave at the

graveyard .

Oh Alcohol 🍺!

You have truly done more

harm than good in my career

on earth .
